TORNADO

The landspout which is appeared on the ocean is called, 'waterspout' or '용오름' in Korean, whereas the landspout which is appeared on the land is called 'Tornado'. However, The weathering condition in Korea isn't good for creating a Tornado. So Waterspout is most use word contating ocean and land.??

 

The Korean word, 용오름, is pure Korean Words, It seems to dragon like form going up to sky. Since it occurs on the land, there are some demages from 용오름.

The principle of Waterspout and Tornado is quite different

: In case of Waterspout, because of unequal heating of water surface, the air below is getting hotter and swirls. Then it goes up to sky with water. And it goes from land to sky. Otherwise, Tornado is occurred because of unstable extratropical cyclone or strong polat front zone. And it goes from sky to land.
